Sunday night TV is for grownups!
January 18, 2009Dig it kids, its Sunday night! Time for Daddy to retreat to the man cave and watch his shows. Cut me a little slack, it is the only TV I watch, outside of sports and background noise.
The Mormons are back (Big Love), and I have a crush on Chloe Sevigny. She is such a nasty in her Prairie outfits!
I also like The L Word, and not for the obvious reasons (hot naked women getting it on with each other) but the story lines are interesting. Yeah, I said it….call me what you will. Problem is, it is up against the Mormons, and I prefer Utah to Los Angeles. Will have to catch the ladies from L late night.
I also just just watched the United States of Tara. It has some promise, and I hope they didn’t blow their load on the pilot. Looks like some funny stuff going on in this one, particularly to those of us who work in the behavioral health field.
Secret Diary of a Call Girl is entertaining, but not a must see. Same with Flight of the Conchords, I enjoy the wit of the Kiwi’s, but not something I Tivo.
Since the end of The Sopranos and Oz, it has been a rough go finding something that is a must see. Dexter used to do it for me, but I actually gave up on it after two episodes this year.
Anyone else a fan of these…or others worth watching?

I’m such a girl…I watch Desperate Houswives on Sunday nights. I so wish I could watch the United States of Tara - it looks good - but I don’t have Showtime. I wonder if Bravo has anything good on Sunday nights…I love that channel.

I try not to watch crap because every time I get sucked into TV for more than a couple of hours a week I get dumb. Really dumb. Writing becomes more labored and my vocabulary wanes drastically. I also don’t feel like getting dumber as I get older. I hear your IQ goes down when you have children - I die a little thinking that.

I used to be a member of Mensa…now I’m just a dude. 3 kids….
I actually think as you age, you have to make it a point to continue to learn. I am much more intelligent at 37 than I was at 27, and exponentially more sharp than I was at 17.
Like anything….moderation is key. Except learning, of course.

LOST!!! I’m a huge Lost addict (and finally got my friend Taylor addicted a few months ago), but if you’re going to start watching it, you have to rent the first few seasons and then jump into the new season (starts on Wednesday!).
I saw a preview for United States of Tara and it looked really interesting, but I don’t have cable.
Don’t forget to set your TiVo for any major news network on Tuesday at noon EST!

The Tudors and Dexter used to rule my Sunday nights but they havent’ come back so I prefer a bit of dirty cam with a certain sexy man–make’s the thought of Monday coming less and more so someone else *cuming* yes I know I’m dirty and twisted but you did say Sunday was for Adults right? lol

24 is looking very good. I heard a radio ad for tonight’s episode. The president asks Bauer, “How do I know which side you’re on?” and Bauer says, “Madame President, ask around.” Chills went up my spine.
Also, I recommend “Leverage” on TNT. Timothy Hutton is very good, and Gina Bellman is so very grrrrr, I can’t stand it. Hotness and a British accent.

Did someone say Timothy Hutton? He’s my John Cusack II.
*swoon*

American actors don’t get much better looking than Timothy Hutton.

What about David Caruso, Steve? He is a hunky man!

David Caruso is such a tool. I think if I saw him on the street, I’d shove him in front of a taxi cab.
