The Granddad of the FJ
January 16, 2009(more for the Fujific man….)
I was fortunate enough to stumble on this when the seller was in need of cash. It has been a good truck that gets me where I need to go.
Toyota Land Cruiser 1988 FJ62. ( not really sure what the FJ stands for…)
According to Google: The “F” is a reference to that early 50’s engine series type and the “J” refers to the body style of the 1950’s 4 Wheel Drive Land Cruiser vehicle.
The third and fourth digits, 40, identifies the generation code for the vehicle’s engine, which is the first generation.

Hmmm, I think people should make something up for FJ to stand for.

No, I’m sorry, but for me the letter combination ‘FJ’ will always call up memories of my Yamaha FJ1100. Two of them in succession in fact; I loved that bike so dearly.
These things with four wheels they call ‘cars’ all look the same to me.

Kate: they are fun to drive and take places that other vehicles can’t go. But big drinkers of the gasoline…only put 3K miles on mine last year.
Simon: I have never owned a motorcycle. I get the itch every once in a while, but deep down they scare me.

Aw and I was hoping it was “fornication jelly” - now you’ve ruined it for me!

Reminds me of an old style Jeep Wagoneer.

My dad owned an early 70’s Landcruiser. To this day, that was his favorite car, and is his dream car. He was part of a landcruiser club that rode all over the dunes in Jacksonville and went mudding in Gainesville. One of his specialties are Toyota’s from the mid 70’s to early 90’s.
